In the ‘80s, Clark Griswold was the envy of every family. Each year, he would take his family on a vacation more exciting and unforgettable than the last. Our dad, on the other hand, didn’t leave his chair.
INT. DEN - DAY
Murray sits in his chair. Adam, Erica, and Barry watch the Griswolds slow-mo run through the Walley World parking lot.
BARRY
Aww, I so want that.
MURRAY
What’s so special about a theme park anyway?
ADAM
Are you kidding me? Walley World is only the best theme park ever.
MURRAY
It’s not even real!
ERICA
I would kill to be anywhere but this couch.
MURRAY
We are not buying a new couch.
ERICA
I’m talking about a vacation.
ADULT ADAM (V.O.)
Uh oh, my sister said the one cardinal word that gets our mom excited and makes our dad angry.
Beverly APPEARS beside Murray.
BEVERLY
Did I hear someone say vacation? Is it Hawaii? Paris? Jerusalem?
